  Your not telling us what other cars you have, or what your are really looking for. Single? Married with kids? Gay? Captain Obvious would say you could get the Volvo and BMW for the one Porsche. But one Porsche owns both those cars. At least in the performance category, and the customer satisfaction, and the anemities, and everything else I could list ...

  Since you posted this in a Volvo forum (and most likely all three major forums) I would think you would have the fortitude and foresight to get the S80 T6 if you are going S80. Its big, heavy, and handles like &#!@. But its comfy and you'll survive a head on collision with a Porsche or BMW.

  VOLVOS ROCK! I'M BIASED OLD MAN OWNS A VOLVO SHOP. FIRST CAR WAS 244 THAT AFTER BEING REAR ENDED BY A BREAD TRUCK STILL DRIVES. ALSO HAVE 98 S70 WHICH I LOVE. DRIVEN AND WORKED ON MANY S80'S WHICH ARE A FULL SIZE CAR AND A BLAST TO DRIVE.

  BMW's are a dime a dozen and they're just such an old cliché. The 911 is too expensive for what it is. Id go for the V8 S80. It's very capable, Volvo is known for its unique style. Volvo is never trying to be a BMW like the rest of the automotive world. and Volvos have proven long term reliability. And of course there's that whole safety cliché...

  This is the better bang for the buck. Volvos are known to be very very durable cars. And modern volvos are very good looking and ride like a dream. I own a volvo s80 and i test drove a bmw 3 series as well the volvo completely destroys the bmw in everyway imaginable. Go with the volvo.

  If you want a smooth ride, the S80 is more luxury oriented than the other two, and has one of the better looking interiors in the automotive world. The T6 or V8 options also provide excellent power. Whoever said the new S80 handles poorly, has never driven one. This is not a Volvo of old. With its adaptive suspension system, you can select from three driving modes: comfort, sport, and advanced. Each mode changes the character of the car considerably, from a comfortable luxury car in 'comfort', to a sharp sport sedan in 'advanced', with 'sport' falling in-between. All three are excellent cars without question, but the S80 seems to fit your criteria better, and is likely the easiest to live with on a daily basis. In any event, happy motoring!
